Tobacco reported adjusted diluted EPS up 7.9% to 164p for the first half, ahead of the 162p Bloomberg consensus, while revenue increased 1.4% to £12.24bn, slightly above the £12.18bn consensus. Strong Modern Oral performance and higher combustibles pricing lifted adjusted operating profit, despite weaker trading in Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. The company reaffirmed its full-year guidance and now expects adjusted diluted EPS growth towards the middle of its 5% to 8% target range.
