Woolworths expects HEPS up between 2.5% and 7.5%, to between 274.8c and 288.2c for the 52 weeks. Group turnover and concession sales increased 4.3%, with Woolworths SA Food sales up 5.7% and comparable sales up 3.7%, while Fashion, Beauty and Home sales increased 4.4% with comparable sales up 4%. Higher fuel costs, inflation, weaker consumer demand and increased promotions weighed on second half profitability, although Country Road returned to profitability. Food like for like sales increased 3.7%, while Fashion, Beauty and Home like for like sales increased 4%.
