Anglo American finalised a deal with Codelco to jointly develop the Los Bronces and Andina copper mines in Chile. The agreement is expected to unlock at least $5bn in pre-tax value, adding around 2.7m tonnes of copper over 21 years once permits are in place, likely from 2030. Annual copper output is set to rise by about 120,000 tonnes, shared equally, with unit costs expected 15% lower than standalone operations.
