Sun International Limited terminated its proposed acquisition of Peermont. The transaction, announced in December 2023 and detailed in a February 2024 circular, was approved by shareholders in March 2024. However, the Competition Commission recommended prohibiting the deal, referring it to the Competition Tribunal. The Tribunal set a hearing date for October 2, 2025, after the transaction’s regulatory longstop date of September 15, 2025. As a result, both parties mutually agreed to terminate the transaction immediately.
