HY Results – Naspers saw revenue from total operations rise 19% to $4.26 bn. Net income tumbled 90% year-over-year to $1.06 bn, and Core HEPS from continuing operations were 56% lower to $1.74. The company made an operating loss from total operations of $94m, down 70% year-over-year. The sale of Tencent shares to fund a buyback provided $2.8bn in the current year. Tencent dividend added $565m to cash flows. Takealot achieved revenue of $433 million but incurred a loss of $13 million, with a trading margin of -3% vs. -1% in the prior period. The company will also acquire the remaining 33.3% stake in iFood from Just Eat Takeaway for €1.5bn in cash, plus a contingent consideration of up to a maximum of €300m in cash.
