Mr Price’s Q1 FY26 results showed retail sales growth of 6.3% to R9bn. June sales declined -5.1% due to a strong prior-year base and an unexpected shift in school holidays, falling below expectations. The gross profit margin decreased by 20 bps due to higher markdowns, underperforming projections. Market share gainsof 10 bps,. Homeware and Telecoms outperformed with 6.4% and 12.7% sales growth, while Apparel’s 6.0% growth was hampered by June’s weak performance.
