Gold Fields has secured a 12-month mining lease extension for its Damang mine in Ghana, pending parliamentary ratification on May 16, 2025 | The agreement allows Gold Fields to safely restart open pit mining at Damang, processing surface stockpiles in the interim | By the end of 2025, Gold Fields will finalize a bankable feasibility study to extend Damang’s mine life and continue infill exploration drilling | A joint asset transition team, appointed by Gold Fields and the Ghanaian government, will facilitate the mine’s transition to local ownership.
