American Express fell even as the company’s second-quarter earnings results beat on the top and bottom lines. American Express posted adjusted earnings of $4.08 per share on $17.86 bn in revenue, above the $3.89 in earnings per share and $17.71 bn in revenue that analysts were expecting.
