Amazon delivered net sales up 13 % to $167.7 bn and earnings of $1.68 per share, both comfortably ahead of expected $162 bn and $1.33 respectively. However the company guided operating income for Q3 at $15.5 bn to $20.5 bn, with the midpoint below the consensus expectation, which weighed on sentiment. Management noted minimal tariff impact so far and continued investment in AI and AWS, but investors were cautious about competitive pressures in cloud and unclear AI differentiation.
