Merafe reported a 28% decrease in attributable ferrochrome production for the six months ended 30 June 2025, dropping to 112kt from 154kt in the prior year, due to smelter suspensions amid adverse market conditions. HEPS are projected to decline 45 to 65% to between 9.8 and 15.4 cents, driven by lower commodity prices, reduced sales volumes, a stronger ZAR:USD exchange rate, and further impairments.
