Q1 Production Report – Production rose 9% from the same period in 2022. The increase was driven by copper production from the new Quellaveco mine in Peru and improvement in coal, iron ore and nickel operations. Planned lower copper grades in Chile, lower PGMs production and the transition of the Venetia mine from open pit to underground mining temporarily lowered production. Production highlights include 28% increase in copper, 59% increase in coal, and 15% increase in iron ore production. There is also a plan to study and trial the use of Kumba and Minas-Rio’s iron ore products as feedstock for H2 Green Steel’s production process. Unit cost guidance for 2023 was unchanged across all business units.
