BHP announced a 41% increase in the cost of Jansen Stage 2 potash, with capital expenditure rising from $4.9bn to $6.9bn and first production delayed to late FY2031. Expected production remains 4.36Mtpa, with combined Jansen output forecast at 8.5Mtpa, representing around 10% of global potash supply. BHP expects a $2.3bn impairment charge due to higher capital intensity.
